Key ResultsSuccessful Firm Launch
The Challenge
Translating Personal Reputation into Corporate Authority
Heidi Alzate Kaufman had already built a formidable reputation as a “rainmaker” in the non-profit sector, having raised over $40 million for institutions like Nova Southeastern University and Chapman Partnership. However, launching her own firm presented a new challenge: she needed to separate her personal name from her business identity.
The goal was to create a brand that didn’t just look like a “freelancer’s portfolio,” but like an established, high-level consultancy capable of managing multi-million dollar capital campaigns. She needed a digital presence that equaled the sophistication of the C-Suite donors and board members she advised.
Key Obstacles:
- ✕The “Solopreneur” Stigma: Overcoming the perception that a new consulting firm is just “one person with a laptop.” The robust “Our Team” section and “HAC” branding successfully positioned the firm as a collective expert resource.
- ✕Visualizing “Strategy”: Fundraising consulting is intangible. We solved this by using high-quality photography of Heidi in action—leading board meetings and speaking at podiums—to visually demonstrate the work of leadership.
- ✕Niche Targeting: The brand had to appeal to two very different audiences: non-profit Executive Directors (who need help) and wealthy Philanthropists (who need confidence). The clean, sophisticated design bridged this gap effectively.
The Strategy
The “HAC” Monogram Identity
We moved beyond a simple name-based logo. We developed the “HAC” monogram—a sharp, geometric brand mark that signals structure, stability, and corporate maturity. This visual shorthand allowed the brand to feel larger than just one person, positioning the firm as a scalable partner for major institutions from Day 1.
Credentials-Forward Design
In the world of high-stakes fundraising, trust is everything. We structured the website to immediately validate her expertise. Instead of burying her achievements, we placed her core metrics—”$250M+ in Campaign Impact” and “CFRE Certified”—front and center.
The “Inspire, Innovate, Impact” Framework
To clarify her complex service offering (which ranges from Board Development to Capital Campaigns), we organized the site architecture around her proprietary “Three I’s” methodology. This turned abstract consulting services into a clear, linear product that prospective clients could understand and buy into immediately.

Why use a monogram (“HAC”) for the logo?
+
How did you highlight the “CFRE” certification?
+
The Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation is the gold standard in the industry. We ensured this credential was visible in the header and bio sections, acting as an immediate “trust badge” that validates her technical knowledge to peers and clients.
What is the “Three I’s” Framework?
+
It stands for Inspire, Innovate, Impact. We used this alliterative tagline to simplify her methodology. It helps clients understand the journey they will take with the firm: starting with vision (Inspire), moving to strategy (Innovate), and ending with measurable results (Impact).
How does the website support her speaking career?
+
A key goal was positioning Heidi as a thought leader. The website includes dedicated sections for media appearances and speaking engagements, allowing conference organizers to easily book her, which in turn drives more consulting business.
